Poppy and Feller
NEED A FOSTER HOME
Poppy and Feller showed up at a rural home during a bad storm in terrible, terrible condition. They were frightened, dripping wet, thin and very hungry. One of the residents is highly allergic to dogs but kindly give them shelter, food and water until rescue picked them up.
It was assumed that Feller was Poppy son but she had been spayed some time ago. How they came to be together is unknown but it is obvious they are inseparable now.
Poppy is estimated to be about six years old. Her teeth are worn down indicating she spent a lot of time chewing on a chain or fencing. She seems very happy to be getting care and attention from humans and is awfully sweet.
Feller is about six or seven months old. He is recovering from a horrendous wound on his chest and little leg. We guess he might have gotten tangled in barb wire or was attacked by an animal. By the time he he got to a vet it was too late to do much except start him on antibiotics. It is healing very well but he will be left with a significant survivors scar.
Poppy gets along with dogs but isn't fond of young ones that pester her. She ALWAYS keeps an eye out for her little Feller and if a dog runs at him she will body block them. Feller is unfamiliar with and frightened by humans. He needs to learn that people are good and nothing to be afraid of. Right now, he hides under a table or chair when people are near. He keeps as close an eye on his adoptive mommy as she does him. They frequently cuddle and always want to sleep with the other near-by. They don't protest being crated as long as they can see each other. Please consider fostering this pair who've had such a hard and traumatic past. They need help to be prepared for the life they've always deserved. They need you.
